What is a reasonable budget for wedding flowers?

There is no right or wrong number for a reasonable budget, some couples plan to spend less than $800 on their wedding, others come to us with a budget of $12,000 or more.

The goal is to be realistic and to find a wedding florist you can really trust. Our family is going to be honest from the get go, and when we work together we can take all the time we need to help you decide what works best for you and your budget.

Does the budget change according to the size of the wedding or does it depend on the amount of floral designs you request?

To be completely honest, every decision you make changes the amount you spend on your wedding flowers. It’s not until you have most of your wedding details confirmed - for example: church, venue, bridal party, guest count, etc.- that you can actually have a better idea of how many wedding flowers you’ll need, and the designs you would like. Once you have those wedding details on lock, you can fully focus on your flowers!

At Flower Fairy we spend time with our couples going through a special checklist we created for weddings. Since we do way more than flowers, we always create bundles for our couples during the process.

You may not be planning a huge wedding, so you won’t have to spend much on personal flowers or centerpieces. But you might want a lavish floral installation, very dreamy and perfect for photos. During the last year, we have helped with many #intimateweddings, some with simple floral concepts and others with over the top designs.

When choosing each floral item we give our couples multiple designs, each within a different price range. The floral designs chosen and the amount of florals needed to curate those designs play a bigger role than the actual size of the wedding.

Can you share ideas for wedding flowers on a budget?

Of course, I love sharing ideas that could help couples on their journey! It's so common to find couples stressed out because many places give them misinformation, or the price of their flowers are just too high. That’s why when we meet a couple who wants to stick to a strict budget, we help them find cost-effective flowers without giving up the look!

We can do this because we get the flowers directly off our farm, we don’t use a third party. This way we are able to guarantee the best price for fresh and beautiful flowers all over the world, all year round. So if you stay flexible and are open to many alternatives, we’ll give you tons of ideas and flower options, keeping in mind the colors and moods you want!

Another great idea to help you save money and stick to your budget will be transitional pieces. We love planning with our couples and finding ways to maximize the floral concepts we design.

Is it true that a wedding requires a lot of money or is it a matter of planning?

It’s definitely a matter of planning! Yes, I know a few couples that have had to spend more money, not just on flowers but on other details like wedding favors and invitations, all because of the time frame before their Big Day.

It can be challenging to feel like you are making the best decisiones for your budget when you are running out of time. The more time you give yourself to plan and find the best vendors, the more you will be able to shop around comfortably.

It all depends on your wedding priorities, some couples do their flowers last but are very flexible with the concepts and flowers we use. So even just a few weeks before their wedding, they can find the best flowers with us for a fair price.
