While COVID-19 has paused lives and events, there are others that have remained: weddings. Yes, celebrating the Big Day has been trending during this pandemic, since couples have opted not to cancel the ceremony, but rather to enjoy remotely with their close friends through virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or Skype in order to celebrate.
Even though the face-to-face weddings have continued, the ceremony planning process has pivoted: from a large invitation list to smaller ones, for example, or also known as intimate weddings.
Because of this adaptation, weddings have far from stopped. But keep in mind that they must include all the necessary safety and hygiene measures. This has led to rethinking the way we plan, for example, the floral concept of the wedding. Now we must also think about the decoration of a new element: the corner for the hand sanitizer and the masks that should not be missing 😷.
Haven’t thought about this? Don’t worry, we have a free guide for you to plan your wedding, where you can find everything you need to figure out before giving a call to your wedding planner.
Wedding trends that the pandemic has produced
Here at My Flower Fairy, we have been very up to date with the trends that the pandemic has produced. Here are some that we would like to share with you:
- Intimate weddings
As we said before, this is a decision many couples are making. They want to say yes, even if it means wearing a mask, so they opt for inviting less guests.
- Outdoor weddings and events
Along with intimate ceremonies, the use of outdoor and open spaces for the wedding rehearsal or for the proper wedding is trending big time!
Organizing an outdoor wedding is wonderful, not only because it might help you feel safer, but because you can enjoy being out in nature.
If you are planning to throw an outdoor wedding, go ahead and check out our own beautiful venue: Hacienda Los Robles.
Plus, these open spaces allow you to bring along your furry companions. Who wouldn’t want their dog to be invited to the wedding?
- New looks for bouquets
The pandemic has resulted in brides preferring a more asymmetrical bouquet style. You can find different styles of bouquets for your wedding in this post that we have prepared.
Remember that there are different types of bouquets, such as a Cascade or Pageant bouquet.
- Bet on eco-friendly
In what way? In every way we can. We must start to take action for the sake of our planet, from being aware of how the products we use affect the environment, from how we can reduce, reuse and recycle.
- Flower wall for your virtual photos
We suggest a flower wall so that you and your guests can pose behind it.This is a creative way to allow guests who weren't able to attend the face-to-face ceremony to be a part by offering them to place it as a virtual background in Zoom.
