Houston is a committee city, and we mean that as a compliment. The floral briefs that reach us here come from energy majors, hospital systems, museums and long-running charitable foundations — organisations with a procurement process, a board that will see the renders, and an events team that has run the same gala for thirty years and knows exactly what went wrong at each one.
That buyer wants drawings before mood boards. So a Houston project starts with a measured plan of the room, a rigging and ballast note, a materials specification saying what is fresh, preserved or faux, and a strike plan with an out-time on it. The pretty render comes with all four attached, not instead of them.
We are a Miami studio. Structures are welded and dry-fitted in our Kendall workshop and freighted to Houston ahead of the crew; fresh product is bought through Texas wholesalers the day before install. There is no Houston shop behind this page, and on a market with real local florists we would rather be clear about what we actually are: a studio that builds floral architecture and travels to install it.
We have not installed in Houston yet, and this page will keep saying that until we have. A page claiming Houston projects we cannot name, date and photograph would be worthless the moment someone asked a follow-up question in a meeting.
What we can show is the process. A Houston project begins with a measured room plan, engineering notes with real weights, and a materials specification identifying every element as fresh, preserved or faux. For museum and hospital rooms we submit that specification for internal review before any steel is cut, because those approvals — not our workshop — set the timeline.
Fabrication and dry-fit happen in Kendall, freight leaves ahead of the crew against your dock window, fresh product is bought through Texas wholesalers the day before install, and strike is contracted at the same moment as install. For recurring gala and lobby programs we quote year one as fabrication plus dress, and later years as dress only.
Judge us on the Miami archive linked below: corporate activations built to camera, festival-scale outdoor production, and hospitality work for clients whose standards match a Houston board's. Those studies carry real venues, real scope and real dates.

Read the study →Each room sets its own rules — ceiling height, rigging points, load-in window, sightlines. These are the Houston-area venues we design against most often, and what floral actually has to do inside them.
Convention center
Enormous, flat and neutral. Floral has to be planned as wayfinding and as photography anchors, not as decor spread thinly across a hall.
Performing arts
Grand-foyer gala work with rigid sightline and egress rules; suspended gestures do more than floor pieces in that volume.
Museum
Conservation rules govern everything — no water near works, controlled materials, and placement approved by the registrar before design is final.
Luxury hotel, Uptown
A polished marble-and-glass property where floral needs mass and confidence; small arrangements vanish in the lobby scale.
Adaptive-reuse venue
Industrial volume with a rooftop farm. Clients here expect sustainable mechanics and material that can be composted or reused.
Hotel
Maximalist interiors that reward a single bold botanical statement rather than layered decoration.
Hospital and research campuses
Infection-control and allergen rules push these installs toward preserved and premium faux, fire-rated and cleanable, with long hold times.
Arena
Suite, club and sponsor activations squeezed into short windows around Rockets and touring dates.
Stadium and expo complex
Rodeo and expo-scale hospitality where structures need to be moved, rebuilt and struck fast across a long run.
Garden venue
The built floral competes with living collections, so we go architectural, monochrome and deliberately non-botanical in form.
Historic estate
Period rooms and formal gardens with preservation restrictions — freestanding, nothing fixed to historic fabric.
Arts district event space
Raw warehouse volume where ceiling treatments and entry moments define the whole event.
When to commit, by season. These windows are what a buildable date looks like once fabrication, freight and crew travel are all in the schedule.
Three weeks of hospitality suites, sponsor clubs and corporate entertaining at NRG Park.
Booking window: Commit by November; the site's own build calendar closes early.
Museum, symphony, hospital and university benefits in ballrooms and grand foyers, often for one to two thousand guests.
Booking window: Eight to sixteen weeks. Marquee committee dates are held a year in advance.
Booth environments, hospitality suites and executive dinners around the city's offshore and energy conferences.
Booking window: Ten to twelve weeks, with convention-center dock windows confirmed first.
Atrium, donor-wall and lobby installations specified for long hold under conditioned air and strict material rules.
Booking window: Six to eight weeks for the first install; refreshes are scheduled annually.
Outdoor and tented work in these months carries a written contingency: what comes down, when the call is made, and who makes it.
Booking window: Book normally, but expect a weather clause and a rebuild rate quoted up front.
Ceremony structures, suspended ceilings and reception florals in hotels, museums and estate gardens.
Booking window: Four to six months for a peak Saturday; longer for museum-owned rooms.
A Houston build usually runs a crew of three to six flying into IAH or Hobby, on site one to three days. Downtown and Medical Center properties often restrict dock access to overnight windows, so our schedule is written backwards from the venue's out-time rather than forwards from our arrival.
Six to eight weeks is realistic for a custom Houston build, longer for anything inside a museum or hospital where a materials review has to clear internally before we cut steel. Two weeks is workable when an existing structure only needs re-dressing. We will not promise an engineered install inside ten days.
Frames and armatures are fabricated and dry-fitted in Kendall and freighted to Houston ahead of the crew. Fresh product is bought through Texas wholesalers the day before install; Gulf humidity is kind to fresh material, so more of a Houston install can stay fresh than in Dallas or Austin.
Museum and hospital installs need materials and placement approved internally — conservation rules in the first case, infection-control and allergen policy in the second — and both reviews take longer than the build. Convention and arena work needs rigging plans, weights and certificates of insurance naming the venue. Outdoor work is ballasted, never staked.
Houston humidity runs close to Miami's, which keeps fresh product happy outdoors but punishes anything that traps moisture: we vent and treat frames, avoid closed cavities and specify finishes that will not spot. From June to November every outdoor or tented installation carries a written storm contingency with a named decision point. Winter is mild enough that outdoor work stays viable year-round.
No. Our studio and only address are in Miami. We build in Kendall and travel to Houston to install, so our Houston work is project-based — installations and programs, not daily delivery.
Yes, with the right specification. Those environments typically rule out fresh product for allergen and infection-control reasons, so we design in preserved and premium faux, fire-rated and cleanable, and submit the material list for internal review before fabrication starts.
Any outdoor or tented Houston installation from June to November is quoted with a written contingency: which elements come down, at what forecast threshold, who makes the call, and what a rebuild costs. It is agreed before install, not negotiated during a storm.
That is our preferred way to work. Structures we build once can be re-dressed in a new palette each year, which cuts fabrication out of every subsequent budget and usually saves 20–35% against building fresh annually.
Yes, on the same trip and without a second travel charge. Galveston work gets a coastal specification — salt air and wind change the mechanics and the variety list, not the price of getting there.
Crew flights, freight and lodging are quoted as a visible line, usually a few thousand dollars on a mid-size build, and they shrink as a percentage on larger installations. Nothing is hidden inside the floral price.
