A shipping container turned into an immersive floral photo room
A shipping container was the whole canvas: a compact, hard-edged box that had to read as a floral world the moment a guest stepped inside, and photograph well from every angle in a queue that never stopped moving.

- Brief
- Convert a standard container into an immersive floral set built for photography — full coverage on the walls and ceiling, no dead corners in frame, and enough durability to survive continuous guest traffic through the day.
- Build
- Florals were mounted on panels fabricated in our Kendall workshop so the interior could be dressed fast on site and struck without touching the container itself. Coverage was designed for a camera at standing height, with the density carried up onto the ceiling line so every photo reads as a floral room rather than a decorated wall.
- Result
- An interior that worked as a self-contained photo environment from open to close, then came apart cleanly, leaving the container as we found it.
Scope of work
- Concept design for the container interior and camera framing
- Panel fabrication in our Kendall workshop
- Delivery and on-site install into the container
- Touch-ups through the activation day and full strike
- Challenge
- A shipping container is the hardest room we work in: hard-edged steel, a low ceiling, mixed light, no soft surfaces to hide mechanics, and only one door for both crew and guests. It had to read as a floral world within the first step inside, photograph cleanly at every angle a phone would be held, and survive a full activation day of guests brushing past at arm's length — all while leaving the container itself untouched so it could be handed back as found.
- Solution
- We treated the container as a set, not a wall. Florals were built onto panels in our Kendall workshop and sized to the container's interior so the whole box could be dressed in one pass on site. Density was designed for a phone camera at standing height and carried up onto the ceiling line, killing the dead corners that make a container read as a decorated box. Traffic-height edges were built stiffer than eye-height areas, since that's where guests make contact, and every fixing was reversible.

- Fixings
- Reversible, non-marking mounts — no drilling or adhesive into the container
- Durability
- Reinforced density at hand and shoulder height along the guest path
- Exact palette and stem list
- On file from the build (to confirm)
Production timeline
Design
Interior mapped to camera framing: sightlines from the door, standing-height density and the ceiling line resolved before fabrication.
Workshop build
Panels fabricated and dressed in our Kendall workshop, then packed in install order so nothing had to be assembled inside the container.
Load-in
Delivery to site and dressing of the container interior in a single pass, working back-to-door.
Activation day
Crew on call for touch-ups between guest waves on February 11, 2023.
Strike
Full de-rig, panels out, container returned in original condition.
Exact call times and crew hours
